Anti -Tobacco & Anti - Smoking Cartoons By Dr Pankaj Chaturvedi

The Cartoonist

Smokitoons symbolize my frustration with tobacco and its sequel. This menace is killing or severely crippling millions of my countrymen just to fullfill greed of certain individuals i.e tobacco company owners. Government, law makers and law enforcers seem to be seduced by this mafia. Thanks to the ignorance of people in developing countries, the multinational tobacco companies  do not face extinction.

I am not a good artist. I have never learnt drawing. My english is not very good. Please pardon me for these shortcomings in my cartoons.

I earn my lively hood by treating tobacco related cancers! I am a Head and Neck cancer surgeon in Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. This is one of the busiest Head and Neck oncology service in this part of the world with around 4000 new registration every year. Three fourth of my patients develop this deadly disease due to tobacco habits. This ailing humanity is the source of my inspiration.

I am a member of Action Council Against Tobacco - India (ACT - India), an NGO that is spearheading the anti-tobacco war in India.
